Campsite Self-RespawnFor this event, your faction's campsite will serve as your self-respawn zone. So, instead of having to touch a self-respawn pole, you may simply set foot inside your faction's campsite to respawn yourself.
FactionsYour faction will be determined on game day based on your experience level, your friend group, any local airsoft team affiliation that you may have, and our faction size goals:
Labrys
Size goal: 50% of all combatantsCampsite & self-respawn: Parking LotProvided insignia: magentaRadio channel: 1 (462.5625 MHz)
Gladius
Size goal: 50% of all combatantsCampsite & self-respawn: PondProvided insignia: chartreuseRadio channel: 2 (462.5875 MHz)
Radio CommunicationIf you have a two-way radio, keep it set on your faction’s radio channel. You may not monitor or transmit on the other factions' channels. VOX mode, hot mic-ing, and channel jamming are all prohibited. Please familiarize yourself with your radio and program in its channels before arriving at the field.
No TreasonYou must remain loyal to the faction that you are currently on and not betray them, because any form of treason will break this game.
No Spawn-campingYou and your faction are not allowed to stalk, surround, or fire upon the enemy campsite/self-respawn location. Likewise, they're not allowed to engage your campsite/self-respawn either.
Setup & Soft StartAfter acquiring your admission wristband at the check-in tent, you will need to do all of the following:
- Put on your eye protection and have all of the required items (above) with you so that you'll pass inspection.
- Go to the firing range with all of the airsoft guns that you'll be using so that they can be chronographically tested and zip-tied.
- Get recruited into either Labrys or Gladius, and put the faction patches that are loaned out to you.
- Go through the new-player orientation if this is your first or second visit.
- Study the game rules and ask questions.
- Get permission to drive or walk to your faction's campsite.
- Set up any camping equipment that you brought which may be integrated with your vehicle if you like.
- Find one of your faction commanders to receive your squad assignment and first mission orders.
- Go across the wire into the AO.
Campsite SafetyWhenever you are inside of the orange boundary line of the AO, you are required to have your eye protection on. However, you may remove your eye protection while you are inside of a tent or a closed vehicle that is located within the campsites which are no-fire zones and are marked with black crosses on the map. This means that you are not allowed to shoot your weapons into, out of, or within the perimeters of the campsites. If you wish to test-fire your replicas or perform target-practice, you must step out of the campsite and aim away from it.Only staff who have been approved by the property owner may start and monitor campfires, but you may safely use your own grill or hotplate. You may enter the opposing faction's campsite only if they give you expressed permission to do so, but you must leave immediately when they ask you to. Also, in coordination with your faction commanders, you may set up tents/campsites elsewhere within the AO as long as they don't have campfires and aren't within 300 feet of the opposing faction's main campsite.
Quiet HoursLoud noises are strictly prohibited from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Therefore, you may not utilize bang grenades, loudspeakers, excessive yelling, and such during these quiet hours.
Objective: Nexus & CatalystEach "N" on the map marks the location of a Nexus, and each faction owns three of them. Each Nexus has a timer on it that measures the number of minutes it is activated (scoring) for its faction. To activate a Nexus, you must acquire a Catalyst which will be introduced into the game at least two hours after startex. The activation is performed by simply plugging the Catalyst into the Nexus. Verify that the second hand on the timer is moving, and contact Game Control if there are any problems. Each Nexus needs only one Catalyst to activate it; therefore, you should activate a second Nexus if your faction acquires a second Catalyst and so forth. The total number Catalysts and their insertion times into the game are undisclosed. You are encouraged to steal each Catalyst that your enemy possesses especially if it is activated on their Nexus. Once introduced into the game each Catalyst must remain within the AO but never within 200 feet of either campsite. Since the Nexus timers are analog and only go up to 12 hours, Game Control will pay attention and note when it crosses over into a new 12-hour period so that the minutes will be counted accurately.
Objective: Bonus MinutesOccasionally, there will be special role-players (non-player characters) who will enter the AO. Sometimes, they will offer missions that may result in bonus minutes being awarded if successfully completed. Both factions will be given equal opportunities to earn these bonus minutes although probably at different times during this 30-hour event. However, the total available bonus minutes won't be more than 25% of the total available minutes that can be earned from Nexus activations; therefore, factions may want to set their priorities appropriately. Labrys and Gladius are encouraged to establish careful rules of engagement when interacting with role-players.
GoalAt endex, the minutes accrued by each Nexus timer will be added up by Game Control along with any bonus minutes that may have been earned, and the faction with the highest total minutes will be declared the winner.
